Obsidian Baroque is a new ensemble formed in summer 2024. We were one of five ensembles chosen to participate in the 2025 BBC/National Centre of Early Music’s New Generation Baroque Artists development day at the Royal College of Music. We focus on Baroque era music (17th and 18th century) and Baroque dance music. Our musicians are graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Individually we play with prestigious groups including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Florilegium, The Academy of Ancient Music and Gabrieli. In 2026 we were delighted and grateful to receive support from the Continuo Foundation. We enjoy performing at local venues to share our enthusiasm for this music.
